Plot
The plot is the raw material of a narrative. It is made up of an event or events - always a chronological succession - which delimit a before and an after; the transformation of an initial state into a new state. This transformation generates surprise and insight.

Objective
An objective is the expected result(s) of one or more actions.
Obstacle
An obstacle may have a direct and concrete impact on the protagonist's action or on the anticipated outcome of that action.
Surprise
A surprise is the effect on a character and/or the receiving agent of the appearance of an unforeseen, unpredictable or mysterious obstacle.
Insight
This is the sudden, unexpected or unforeseeable discovery of an obvious solution to a problem or mystery, the reason for a decision or action, the validity of an argument, etc.
